Farmers State Bank is participating in the FDIC’s Transaction Account Guarantee Program. Under that program, through December 31, 2009, all noninterest-bearing transaction accounts are fully guaranteed by the FDIC for the entire amount in the account.

Coverage under the Transaction account Guarantee Program is in addition to and separate from the coverage available under the FDIC’s general deposit insurance rules.

The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) is an independent agency of the Unites States government that protects against the loss of insured deposits if an FDIC-insured bank or savings association fails. FDIC deposit insurance is backed by the full faith and credit of the United States government. Since the FDIC was established, no depositor has ever lost a single penny of FDIC-insured funds.

Farmers State Bank has met the high standards for financial strength and stability required to be a member of the FDIC. The FDIC, with other federal and state regulatory agencies, regularly reviews the operations of Farmers State Bank to ensure these standards are met.
